Hello to all! It's been a while since I have posted on here. I have been attempting to keep myself busy this last week and a half as Chad has been away for work. He spent about a week in Albania and is now in France. He is supposed to be returning on Thursday-- Lord willing! --I have come to a final and simple conclusion during us being apart again...and that is that I don't handle it very well. :( I'm not sure why it is especially hard for me to have him gone. He certainly deals with it just fine. I'm starting to think that I am most unusual in this and sometimes I feel like a regular nuisance...but lets not get into my feelings of things. Anyway, he is supposed to be back in a few more days. I know the Lord will continue to give strength and comfort!
Other new developments - well, there aren't very many. --We 'harvested' our meat rabbits shortly before Chad left and I am now attempting to put their pelts to good use for slippers, mittens, etc. We shall see how that goes! It should be an interesting experience. :) I am still in the very beginning steps of soaking them in a brine and after they are done I will wash them and start to soften them for use. -- It's quite the process!
I was reading Hebrews 10 and 11 the other day. I found some very interesting verses in chapter 10. I don't think I will comment on them right now cause I want to search some things out first. But here they are, in case you would like to read them. "Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;) And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries. He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses: Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace? For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people. It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God."
(Hebrews 10:22-31)
I also, as usual, very much enjoyed Hebrews 11. I love the simplicity of this Christian walk...it can be summed up in one word: Faith. By FAITH we are told to walk, by FAITH we have this hope and full assurance, by FAITH we can live in peace and fellowship with Father. Sometimes we seem to complicate things alot, but God calls us to simply have faith and follow Him, for He loves us and has a plan for us.
This verse is running through my head now: "But without faith it is impossible to please Him; for he who comes to God must believe that He is; and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him." -- By FAITH we can please God.
Anyway, just some simple little thoughts. I hope you all have a blessed week. I have to get back to my deep-cleaning around here. It feels good to get things accomplished and to know you have a clean house in the end! :) Fun Fun! :D
Blessings and peace to you ~

Little Tidbits and Updates
A few new things lately...
Thanksgiving was a great time. I got to kick back and visit a little more than usual this time! :) I got to listen to some of Uncle Ben's great stories of when he and his brothers and sisters were younger. They were quite mischevious! :) As always, we had an abundance of wonderful food and good, blessed times. The gathering was smaller than usual this time, but was still so much fun!
Today I finished a baby quilt that I had been working on slowly for the past couple months. I hand stitched the little squares together into strips and then used the sewing machine for most of the rest. I finished it today. So much fun and it turned out pretty good for my first attempt at a patch quilt! :) Chad helped me with a few things, so that was a lot of fun! -- I'll have to post pics of it soon.
On a little more of a sad note, Chad has to leave for about 2 weeks for work. It's always rather hard on me to have him gone for any amount of time, but I will just have to keep busy with things. I think my brother Jethro will be staying with me to 'babysit' me. :) That'll be great!
My Aunt Rita's brother-in-law passed away on Sunday evening. It was quite sudden and unexpected. He had a massive stroke on Thanksgiving day, and the Lord took him just a few days later. Please be in prayer for his family as they mourn and make the final arrangements. --- Deaths always make me think of the Catholic belief of 'pergatory' - the hope (as I understand it) that perhaps they can be able to pray their loved ones into heaven after they die...if they pray enough. That is kind of a sad hope to me. Isn't it wonderful that we can have a FULL assurance of salvation through faith in Christ Jesus!? What a blessed hope!
I have been reading II Corinthians lately. There were some encouraging things in there today that got my attention. One of them was in chapter 7 verse 5: "For, when we were come into Macedonia, our flesh had no rest, but we were troubled on every side; without were fightings, within were fears." The part that says, "within were fears" kinda jumped at me and I found strange comfort in that. I found it rather comforting that even Paul had fears, and to see that the Lord doesn't necessarily scorn us when we have fears, but rather God is a Father of love and He desires to relieve our fears...as it says in the very next verse.
"Nevertheless God, that comforteth those that are cast down, comforted us by the coming of Titus." I love that God is so gentle and understanding! Where would we be if He was some tyrant??!
--- Another verse that I was encouraged by was 8:10-12. Now, maybe today I may have translated this scripture different than what it was meant to say...? I'm not sure, but I know the Spirit moves and shows different things at different times to work in the hearts of His people to comfort and encourage them. So, if this 'interpretation' seems not to be what you got out of it, please pardon me this once, for I was encouraged by this. :) " And in this I give my advice: it is to your advantage not only to be doing what you began and were desiring to do a year ago; but now also you must complete the doing of it; that as there was a readiness to desire it, so there also may be a completion out of what you have. For if there is first a willing mind, it is accepted according to what one has, and not according to what he does not have."
-- This to me kinda had a few things in it. One, I like where it says about doing something that they were desiring to do a year ago. That made me think of so many times when we get sidetracked from things we desired to do...whether for someone or start some kind of ministry, or whatever, that it is never too late. Even if you were gonna do it a year ago, you should complete it if the desire is there. -- I like also how it says that if we have a willing mind, that seems to be the key. As long as we have that, it doesn't matter what we don't have -- the Lord is provider of all things that we need anyway. I know sometimes I can get hung up on the mind set of, "Oh if I only had that, then I really could do this!" HA! Ya right! Who are we fooling!? In the end, God knows our hearts, and if we only have a willing mind and faith in Him, "All things are possible"!
Well, I hope those thoughts don't seem too jumbled. Sometimes my fingers can't keep up with my little thinker. :)
I hope you all have a blessed day!

Giving of Thanks
Sometimes I think we can become pretty unthankful/ungrateful for the things we have. I'm thinking today of what a 'crime' that is, really. God has blessed us in so many unspeakable ways...even what we may see as 'curses' or bad things are really blessings in disguise, if in fact we are His children. (And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose. - And even if you are not of His, He still blesses you in ways -- it says in Hebrews that He makes the rain to fall on the just and the unjust.
Romans 8:28)
Sometimes it is hard to see the blessings in the trials and tribulations and hard times, but nevertheless, the blessings are there and are abundant! I have seen this many many times in my life...especially since being married. God is so good to us! What a Father we have! Let us be thankful and give praise to our God for His unspeakable gifts!!
Today I am baking breads and getting things ready for Friday (the day my family gets together for Thanksgiving). I am excited to see all of our loved ones! I hope lots of people come! :)
I am getting more pregnant looking day by day. I went from 'flat to fat' in about 3 - 4 weeks! Crazy! :) Little baby is moving all over the place now. It is so much fun to just sit and watch him. I think Chad is having fun with it too. We continue to pray for wisdom in the days ahead as we prepare for baby's coming. We have a few decisions to make and things to get done. Hopefully we can get a room ready in time. Chad will be traveling for work soon again and will be gone about 4 weeks out of the next 2 months. We are also planning on going to Florida for 1 week in January, so hopefully in all this we can find time to be prepared and such. :)
I hope you all have a very wonderful Thanksgiving day. I pray the Lord will teach us to be more thankful from day to day and to realize who and what God is for us!

The Importance of Prayer
Good morning! It's a cold, but lovely morning here. We woke up to snow on the ground. Is winter starting to set in? I'm always amazed when I think of the miracle of how no two snowflakes are alike...isn't that amazing!? It just goes to show how infinitely wise our heavenly Father is.
This morning, before Chad went to work, we had a little Bible time together. We were reading in Luke chapter 11. The disciples had asked Jesus to teach them to pray and Jesus told them to pray what is known today as 'the Lord's prayer' -- although I'm not sure why people call it the Lord's prayer cause actually it is meant to be OUR prayer. I think if you want to find the Lord's prayer, you should look in John 17. -- Anyway, after He finishes telling them what to pray, he uses an illustration. Here are the verses:
"And he said unto them, Which of you shall have a friend, and shall go unto him at midnight, and say unto him, Friend, lend me three loaves; For a friend of mine in his journey is come to me, and I have nothing to set before him? And he from within shall answer and say, Trouble me not: the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed; I cannot rise and give thee.
I say unto you, Though he will not rise and give him, because he is his friend, yet because of his importunity (or persistence) he will rise and give him as many as he needeth.
(Luke 11:5-10)
I guess when I read this before, I read it in the King James Version and never really knew what that word 'importunity' meant. But when Chad read it today from the New King James, he used the word 'persistence' and it was clear to me what the passage was actually saying. The Lord actually is asking us to be persistent in prayer. Like the man in the illustration, perhaps the Lord is saying, 'not now'...or something to that effect. But it says to be persistent and He will give. This ties right in to the matter of faith, 'ask believing'. If we were just to give up hope and say, "I've prayed for this time and again, the Lord just isn't going to answer". I dont think that is the attitude that He would want us to have. Persistence by faith, I think this is key.
Anyway, I just thought this was encouraging cause sometimes I can get discouraged in prayer, feeling like I just pray the same thing time and again, but that is what we ought to be doing! That's nice to know. :) -- for me anyway. So, lets, as Romans 12:12 says "...continuing instant in prayer." (The word instant here means to be earnest towards, to persevere, to be constantly diligent.) Lets persevere in prayer and be constantly diligent in it! :)
Grace and peace to you ~

Excitement of Blessings
The last few days have been ones of excitement, filled with blessings.
First, my prayers have been answered about getting a good piano for cheap...which has been hard to find. I have been patiently waiting for one to come up for quite a few months now. We were looking for a spinet piano that wouldn't need to be tuned. The other night, one came up on Craigslist for sale. They were asking $250 a couple of days previous and all of the sudden they dropped it to $100 and offered to deliver it for the cost of gas! I called on it right away and the man was very nice. His family had had this piano for 40+ years and it has been well maintained and tuned often. It was just what we were looking for...and praying for! We had them deliver it the next day. It has been a blessing so far. I have been brushing up on my much neglected piano skills (or lack of) for the last few days. It feels good to play again! -- Thank you Lord!
Saturday (November 5th) was opening day of deer hunting season in this area. -Always a very looked-forward-to and exciting weekend for folks around here. A time for a chance to replenish the food supply in our freezers and a time for some challenge, fun and of course, some miserable freezing. :)
Chad and I were praying that the Lord would bless this season for us and our families. We ourselves had just used the last of our venison meat from previous years and were virtually meatless. -We all know that to live on the meat from the stores could mean future bankruptcy...haha...the prices of food, and everything else for that matter, never cease to amaze and disgust me. So, weeks before deer season had begun, we would diligently pray that the Lord would provide us with the meat we need for this year. As a result, opening morning, Chad was in his deer stand for about 30 mins or less when along comes a deer. He shoots, and scores! :) About 5-10 minutes later, another one emerges from the woods and he was able to successfully shoot and kill that one as well! Two deer in less than an hour of time. What a blessing! He immediatley let me know of his success and I left my spot to praise God and go help him with processing. Now, 2 days later, our once empty freezer is pretty well stocked with lots of roasts, fry meat, backstraps, tenderloins, and 40+ lbs of burger!! Jehovah Jirah!--- our provider---God is sufficient in every area.
My family is well on their way to stocking their freezers as well! Praise God! I love that the Lord is concerned with every little area in our lives.
Another little blessing that I would like to mention is one that I have been eagerly waiting for. Last night as Chad and I were watching an old movie, I felt our baby move. It was plain as day and I was sure that was it! I exposed my tummy to see if I could see it move because the kick felt pretty strong. Sure enough, he kicked again and my stomach moved with the force. Chad got to see and feel our precious baby moving at the same time. I think it's neat that we got to feel him at the same time! :) Now I'm always eagerly waiting for him to move like that again, and the excitement comes when he does. What a miracle to think that a living child is in my tummy, growing, and will soon be out to meet all of us. We would ask for your prayers for our baby as he continues to develop in the womb. I love Psalm 139. The knowledge that God is creating this child within me is so wonderful! Praise Him for His unspeakable gifts of love and mercy to us!
We would love to hear from any of you! Anything the Lord has been showing you or blessing you with would be great encouragement to us! Also, we would like to hear about any prayer requests!
Blessings to you all!! ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord, According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity. For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins. Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall: For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.(2 Peter 1:2-11)

Preggo Update! :)
Just a little update in the preggo world. :)
I am now over halfway to meeting this little one! I have yet to feel little baby kick. There have been a couple of times when I was half sleeping that I thought I felt something, but I'm just not sure if it was for real or not. I eagerly wait!! :)
I continue to have lots of headaches and even some migrains and am nauseated a bit and still throwup from time to time, but overall ok. :)
I have vowed not to buy any more cloth diapers...at least until after my babyshower. --I'm pretty stocked now though, so thats good! I'm pretty excited about that! After spending the total amount, which I won't reveal at this time, I figured it would take me about 5 or 6 months to spend that amount on disposable diapers. Feeling pretty good about that. =D
We are still praying about whether to go with a midwife or a doctor. Your joined prayers for wisdom in this decision would be appreciated.
I hope you all are having a wonderful week. 'Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness'.

To Walk by Faith
Like I've stated earlier, the Lord has been trying to teach me many things. One of those things lately (well, probably always, but I just am really being focused on it lately) is how to walk by faith and what that means. In fellowship with other dear believers, we have discussed lately the faith of a child. I remember so very clearly my faith as a child, how simple and pure it was. We as adults seem to have to complicate and rationalize everything, and through that I think that we are really limiting God's work and His recieving of glory through our lack of pure faith.
A couple of weeks ago, my nephew was praying that it would stop raining outside. Shortly, it did. He ran to his mom and said "God answered my prayers, mom!" -- To him, that is exactly what happened, to us as adults, many of us would rationalize in our minds that the clouds just passed by on thier original route and that it was no big deal. I think that the Lord really does answer those kinds of prayers. I think that our Father delights to show Himself well able to do exceedingly and abundantly above what we can ask or think! He really does care...not just about the 'big' things in life, but also just as much, about the little things as well. He says that He even cares so much for the sparrows - the little birds of the air. "Are you not of much more worth, O ye of little faith?"
How wonderful to have a Father such as He! I was reading this morning an article talking about this very thing of faith. - Funny how the Lord brings things like this along when He is teaching you. Coinsidence? I don't think so. Anyway, I received this article in the mail. It was talking about the 12 spies that the Lord sent forth to scout out the promised land. Ten of these ones came back and were fearful because of the huge walls and the giants that lived in that land. Caleb and Joshua were the only ones that gave a "good report" of how the land was very good and how they were "well able" to possess it. The whole congregation started to fear and complain as a result of the 10 spies' unbelief. Joshua and Caleb rebuked the crowd. Numbers 14:7-9 says:
And they spake unto all the company of the children of Israel, saying, The land, which we passed through to search it, is an exceeding good land. If the LORD delight in us, then he will bring us into this land, and give it us; a land which floweth with milk and honey. Only rebel not ye against the LORD, neither fear ye the people of the land; for they are bread for us: their defence is departed from them, and the LORD is with us: fear them not.
As a result of the others' unbelief, the Lord said not one shall come into the land where He swore that He would make them dwell except for Joshua and Caleb.
There are many such examples of faith in the Bible...and the reward of them. (See Hebrews 11) May the Father continue to teach us to "walk by faith". Remember, with God nothing is impossible.

~ reasons and purposes for this blog ~
Hello! and welcome to my blog! :) Thanks for visiting.
I had often thought about creating a blog for anyone who becomes curious of my life and what is going on with me and my family recently. I've wrestled with this decision in the past, being leary of the blog idea just because it is kinda out in the public eye...possibly, but in the end I decided that there is hardly anything 'secret or out of the public eye' these days and I decided I just wanted to reach out to people this way and share some of what is going on with me. The Lord has been teaching me MUCH -in the last 15 month especially! I feel sometimes like I have been in the fiery furnace of trial for this entire time. But God is so good and merciful and FAITHFUL...even to me, an unworthy sinner.
Anyway, this blog will probably be a mixture of the Lord's dealings and teachings with me, the everyday normal life here in my quaint little home as a new wife and mother...and preggo lady. :) And all the little, delightful tidbits of 'life'.
My prayer is that some of this...any of what is posted on here...will be profitable to you and glorifying to God. I look forward to hearing from any of you. We all need a word of encouragment, and I am no exception! :) So, feel free to drop and note or thought my way!
Blessings to you all!!!
